The curly leaves are used e.g. for soups and the stalk can also be prepared. The kale variety impresses with a growth height of up to 1.80 m and can be harvested throughout the winter. Years ago, the "East Frisian palm" was still very important for food in northern Germany, but today it has almost fallen into oblivion. Thanks to new recipes and trends such as smoothies, the healthy kale is enjoying increasing popularity again.
